This is a 3D version of the game tic tac toe. You have to have 4 in a row in order to win. Any diagonal in 2D or 3D space counts, too. It supports local (player vs player, player vs computer, computer vs computer) and network games.

It's also possible to load additional computer enemies from a jar file. The file "ComputerEnemyLibrary-1.0.jar" demonstrates this and includes 3 computer enemies:
offensive: A computer enemy that makes only offensive moves.
defensive: A computer enemy that makes only defensive moves.
random: A computer enemy that makes purely random moves.

You can browse the mercurial repositories online:

See the Wiki for more details:

version 1.0-rc4:
fixed null pointer access

version 1.0-rc3:
fixed current player tracking (display of "next: ..." statusline)

version 1.0-rc2:
show who is next in netplay
highlite last move
don't transmit illegal moves (that would be a way to spy on the next move of a user)
fix typo "loose" -> "lose"

version 1.0-rc1:
Finished real software 3D (could be done better, though).

version 1.0-beta10:
Added pseudo 3d game field style. Default is classic, though.

version 1.0-beta9:
Fixed a possible race condition with Swing and multithreading.
The chosen look and feel will now be remembered.
Added links to the about dialog.

version 1.0-beta8:
It is now possible to load additional computer enemies from a jar file.

TODO: The beginner will always stay the same until you change it (so it's NOT that the looser will always begin).

version 1.0-beta7:
Now you can choose who begins (you or the computer).

version 1.0-beta6:
New feature: Record and replay (step-by-step) games!
Now all strings are marked for i18n (needs to be tested, I hope I didn't make typos).

version 1.0-beta5:
The computer enemies offensive evaluation didn't work. It should be a bit more aggressive now.

TODO: There are still some strings left to mark for i18n.

version 1.0-beta4:
Much better computer enemy. Can anyone still beat it?

version 1.0-beta3:
Fixed netplay.

version 1.0-beta2:
Implemented simple computer enemy. It is very defensive and not very intelligent. It doesn't plan for future steps whatsoever. If you learn how it thinks you should be able to beat it without any problems.

version 1.0-beta1:
Huge refactorings (reworked whole internals). Now the game logic is only calculated by one host (the server) in netpaly mode. Therefore there should no problems with race conditions anymore.

Changed the buttons style back to normal appearance because it made problems with some look and feels (e.g. Gtk). It's now also possible to change the look and fell on the fly.

Wow, this is cool. It's confusing as hell but it's a very neat take on basic tic-tac-toe. This might become addicting. Hehe
