Description:

JErgometer is an open source ergometer software written in Java that can be used to record and control your training sessions. Currently only ergometers of the manufacturer Kettler with a COM port are supported. The following devices are known to work with JErgometer:
* Kettler AX1
* Kettler X3
* Kettler X7
* Kettler RX7

If you know more ergometers that are compatible or incompatible with JErgometer please let me know.

Features:
* define your own training programs (pulse-driven or power-driven)
* record and save your training sessions
* view old sessions and compare them with new training sessions using graph that shows your training progress over time
* manage user accounts for separating training sessions of different persons
* run JErgometer on different platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac) -> (tested on Ubuntu Linux 32 and 64 bit, Windows XP 32 bit)
* multi-language support (at least English and German at this time)

== Installation ==
=== OpenSUSE ===
Denny Beyer has created an OpenSUSE package and provides it and its dependencies in the following repository
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/lumnis/openSUSE_11.2/
The OpenSUSE package has not yet been tested with a real ergometer. If you test it please let me know whether everything works.

Changelog:

* implemented feature #177: extend timeline automatically when reaching end of traning program

* implemented issue #178: save and restore last window position and size
* fixed issue #155: test connection sometime successful when using wrong COM port

Very good.

But is it possible to save the recorded data (Heart rate, Power, cadence...) in a file ?

Every training session that you record is automatically saved in two files (.dat and .hrm) which are stored in the directory ~/.jergometer/users/$USERNAME/sessions. The files are named by the date and time of the recording. I suggest you to use the .hrm files. These files use the human readable Polar HRM format which is also used by a lot of other sport applications. Big thanks to Timo Wendt who added the support for HRM. If you want to process the sessions directly in Java you can also use the binary files (.dat) and the JErgometer's session classes to read and write the .dat files.
